While you are walking in Meydan you’ll realise how passionate locals are for football and Trabzonspor. Maroon and blue (official colours of Trabzonspor) are literally everywhere, especially if you are visiting on a matchday. To visit Trabzonspor’s museum next to Kahramanmaraş Street (one of the three main streets of Meydan) is a “must” for anyone visiting the city center. In the museum, you fill find cups, trophies, pictures, and documents representing the glorious history of the club. The topmost of the trophies exhibited are the league trophies you will see upstairs. There are some famous pieces you should notice. First one is “a half cup” won (shared) by an older football club of the city (İdmanocağı), during times when there was no penalty shootout. And the most famous, the 7th (empty) trophy stand in front of 6 league trophies won by Trabzonspor. It is standing alone in front as a reference to the controversial league championship in the 2010-2011 season.
